4/19/21

Today in class we didn't really have a class. Instead, we spent our time writing an essay. Unlike our last essay, I had time. Only problem was I was extremely sleepy. For the first 10 minutes I was just dozing off. Then I finally woke myself up and was able to write the essay completely. If I had known we had to do this today I would've been more prepared. Luckily I was able to finish. Overall today was sort of terrible; writing that essay while trying to stay focused was literal torture.

 Today in class we discussed a bellringer about whether education is boring or not. In my opinion, education isn't boring if you're looking at the bigger picture. But the work involved may be boring. There's also other factors. I actually enjoyed today's lesson a bit because he went over sources which helped. I was able to write a good claim and back it up with evidence from the provided texts. Overall a really good day.

Reflection 2/16/21

Today in class we started with an fun bell ringer. It took time to think about what exactly to write but, I was able to compose something meaningful. We then went over the poem ''We Real Cool".  The poem itself was rather short. It interests me to know that there are poems with not much length but heaps of meaning. This was a great exposure to a form of poetry I hardly knew existed. I am certainly glad to have read such a poem. My take on it is that because you will die one day it's important to live a fun life in your youth. We all grow up and such moments are brief in the grand scheme of things. I do appreciate the tone that the poem alludes. Overall, I really enjoyed today's lesson.

3/18/21

 Today in class we went over more synthesis essays. We looked at images and made claims about them. We learned that you can analyze images and make claims using the images alone or use the images as evidence. We also learned more about sources. To be honest, I am having a few issues with the recent prompts. They're pretty hard to understand without rereading them a lot. Of course I won't have time to do so during the exam. Hopefully he goes over them more or reexplains methods to comprehend the prompts.
